Resin-bound aggregate in the public realm of DMCC's Uptown Dubai district — a seamless, permeable surface for the landscaped walkways of a new super-tall business quarter.
In DMCC’s Uptown Dubai — the district rising around Uptown Tower — RBS surfaced elements of the landscaped public realm in resin-bound natural aggregate. In a high-specification business and lifestyle quarter, the ground plane has to match the architecture above it: the bound aggregate delivers a smooth, seamless, contemporary finish that sits flush with adjoining hard landscape and holds a crisp, uniform line.
The performance is suited to a busy urban district. The surface is permeable and free-draining, keeps its grip and its colour under heavy pedestrian traffic, and avoids the loose stone, weed lines and jointing failures of conventional paving — a low-maintenance, accessible walking surface built to stay looking new in a flagship development.
