Pricing
Priced per project after a site visit, supply and install. The slab's condition, the sheen level and how much aggregate you want exposed move the cost — and only the slab can tell us how much grinding it needs.
Stained or coloured floors, deep aggregate exposure, and overlays over slabs that cannot be polished are all priced after a site visit.
Polished concrete, done properly
Polished concrete floors are not a coating. They are the concrete slab you already have, ground back through progressively finer diamond tooling, hardened with a chemical densifier that reacts inside the surface, and polished until the sheen comes from the stone itself — honed and matte, satin, or a deep mirror gloss. Whether you call it polished, ground, burnished or diamond-polished concrete, it is one process, and the floor it produces is seamless from wall to wall with nothing on top to scratch, peel or yellow.
That is also why the cheap quote is usually a different product. Grind-and-seal lightly grinds the slab and paints a sealer over it; it looks similar for a season and then wears at the traffic lines like any coating. We only sell the densified process, and we explain the difference on every site visit. The material, the machines and the sheen levels are explained on our polished concrete page; the numbers are in the cost guide.
Decorative concrete contractors near me: the other finishes we apply
Polishing is one of several things we do to a concrete slab, and the right one depends on the slab and the room. Acid and water-based stains bring warm, organic colour into a sound slab before it is sealed or polished. A cementitious overlay gives a tired, uneven or damaged slab a new flat surface that can itself be polished. Outdoors, exposed aggregate, bush-hammered texture and spray-stencil overlays renew driveways, pool decks and courtyards. What we do not do is pour structural concrete, lay stamped concrete or sell precast slabs — those are other trades, and we will say so rather than sell you the wrong thing. RBS is responsible for every one of these jobs, start to finish, across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the northern emirates.
Where polished concrete belongs in a Dubai home — and where not
Living rooms, entrance halls, kitchens and open-plan ground floors are its natural home: large, uninterrupted, and cool underfoot. A honed or satin finish suits a kitchen; keep high gloss for rooms that stay dry. Upstairs it depends on the slab — a thin screed will not polish like structural concrete, so we check first. Bathrooms and wet rooms are the honest no: a polished floor cannot be made waterproof at the walls the way a microcement wet room can, and it is slippery when soaked. Outdoors and on driveways it is the wrong choice too — sun, grit and grip all argue for a resin-bound or textured concrete surface. And polished concrete countertops are a different trade altogether: they are cast and worked by a fabricator, not ground on site. If your room is on the “no” list, see microcement in Dubai or stone carpet in Dubai — we would rather point you to the right floor.
Polished concrete floors: pros, cons and what decides the cost
Pros. One seamless floor with nothing on top to peel, scratch or yellow, because the sheen comes from the densified slab itself. It uses the slab you already have, stays cool underfoot, and can be re-burnished where the walkways go dull. A honed or satin finish suits kitchens and halls.
Cons. It is only as good as the slab: a thin screed, cracks or a patchy pour limit what can be polished, so we check first. It is slippery when soaked, which rules out bathrooms, wet rooms and outdoor areas. Grinding is dusty, noisy work, and a high-gloss finish shows scuffs and marks more than a honed one.
What decides the cost. The slab’s condition and how much grinding it needs, the sheen level you choose, how much aggregate you want exposed, the size and shape of the floor (large open floors price lower per square metre, small cut-up rooms higher), and whether stains or an overlay are involved. A true densified polish is priced per project after a site visit; the full list of drivers is in the polished concrete cost guide, and the trade-offs against other floors are in polished concrete disadvantages.
Why Dubai chooses RBS for polished concrete
The real thing, not a coating
True polished concrete is the slab itself, ground through progressively finer diamonds, hardened with a densifier and polished to the sheen you choose. There is no film on top to scratch, yellow or wear through — which is why it lasts the life of the building.
One company, start to finish
Polishing is judged pass by pass, on the machine. RBS is responsible for every floor, start to finish: the slab test, every grinding pass, the densifier and the final sheen.
Honest about the slab
Not every slab can be polished. We check hardness, flatness, cracks and moisture before we quote, and if yours will not polish well we say so and offer the overlay or the microcement route instead.
A decorative-surfaces company
We finish surfaces for a living, so a polished floor is planned for how it looks under your light as well as how it wears — sheen level, aggregate exposure, edges, and the finishes that meet it.
Your questions, answered straight
Can my existing slab be polished?
Often, but not always — and the slab decides, not the brochure. A sound, reasonably flat concrete slab with no active cracks and a hard surface polishes beautifully. A weak, badly patched or crumbling slab will not take a polish, whatever the machine does. In that case the honest routes are a polishable cementitious overlay that gives the slab a new wearing surface, or microcement over the top. We check hardness, flatness and moisture on the site visit before quoting either.
Are polished concrete floors in a house practical to live with?
Yes, with two honest caveats. It is a hard floor — dropped glasses break, and a rug in the living room makes it more forgiving underfoot. And it is a cool floor, which in the UAE is a genuine advantage for most of the year. Day to day it is one of the easiest floors there is: a dust-mop for the sand, a damp mop with a neutral cleaner, and a re-burnish when the traffic lanes dull, years apart.
Is polished concrete slippery or hard to keep clean?
Dry, a polished floor grips no worse than polished stone or tiles. Wet, a high-gloss finish can be slippery, which is why we recommend a honed or satin sheen for kitchens and entrance halls and keep gloss for spaces that stay dry. Cleaning is the easy part — there is no coating to protect, so a pH-neutral cleaner is all it ever needs. Acids and strong degreasers are the only things to keep away from it.
How long does polishing take, and how much dust?
A 100 m² open floor typically takes several days — the grinding passes, the densifier and its cure, then the polishing steps up to your sheen. The machines run with vacuum dust extraction, so the dust is managed rather than everywhere, but this is still a machine process in a live space. We plan it for an empty room and sequence it around other trades on a refurbishment.

Frequently asked
What are polished concrete floors — and is polished concrete flooring the same thing?
Yes, the two names mean the same floor. Polished concrete floors are concrete slabs ground through progressively finer diamond tooling, hardened with a densifier that reacts inside the surface, and polished until the sheen comes from the concrete itself — honed matte, satin or high gloss. Nothing sits on top, so there is no coating to scratch, peel or yellow. A floor that is ground and then given a glossy sealer is a coated floor, not polished concrete, even when it is sold under the same name.
What is decorative concrete flooring?
Decorative concrete flooring is any concrete floor finished to be seen rather than covered: polished, stained, overlaid, or textured with exposed aggregate. Polished concrete is the plainest version — the slab itself, ground and polished. Acid or water-based stains add colour to a sound slab, a cementitious overlay gives a tired slab a new surface, and exposed aggregate or bush-hammered texture suit outdoor areas. Which one fits depends on the slab and the room, which is why each is priced after a site visit.
What is the polished concrete price per m² in Dubai?
True densified polished concrete is priced per project in Dubai, supply and install, after we have seen the slab. That is the full mechanical process — grinding, densifying and polishing the slab itself — not a grind-and-seal coating, which is often sold under the same name for far less and wears like the coating it is. Larger open floors price lower per square metre; small, cut-up rooms price higher. Every driver is explained in our polished concrete cost guide.
Are there polished concrete floor contractors near me in Dubai?
If you are anywhere in Dubai, yes. We are based in Business Bay (The Exchange Tower) and work anywhere in Dubai, from the Marina to Mirdif and the industrial areas. RBS is responsible for every job, start to finish, so the company that inspects your slab is the company that answers for the finished floor. The honest test for any contractor near you is to ask for a floor that is two years old, and to ask whether they densify or just seal.
How do I choose a polished or decorative concrete company near me?
Ask three things. First, densified or grind-and-seal — the answer separates a polished floor from a coated one. Second, who is responsible for the floor from the first grind to the final polish. Third, ask to see a floor at least two years old and in traffic, not a fresh photo. A company that answers all three plainly is worth talking to, whether or not it is us.
Are you polished or decorative concrete suppliers, or do you install?
We supply and install as one job. We do not sell densifiers, sealers, stains or overlay material for DIY or to other contractors, because the result depends entirely on the machine work and the hands on it, and we would rather not put our name on a product we did not apply. If you only want material, a specialist trade supplier is the right call; if you want a finished floor, that is what we do.
Which concrete companies in Dubai pour slabs, and which polish them?
Different trades. Ready-mix suppliers and structural contractors pour, cut and supply concrete slabs; we do not. RBS is the finishing trade — we take a slab that already exists and grind, densify, polish, stain or overlay it. If you are looking for a company to pour a new floor or driveway, you need a structural contractor first; once the slab has cured, we are the company that makes it a floor worth looking at.
Is there a stained concrete company near me in Dubai?
Yes — staining is part of what we do. Acid stains react into a sound slab and water-based stains colour it, and we then seal or polish the floor. The result is variegated and organic, never the same twice, and because it depends on the slab's own chemistry we test a patch first. Stained floors are priced on consultation after that test; our acid-stained concrete page shows what the finish honestly looks like.
Are there stamped concrete contractors, companies or suppliers near me in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or UAE?
No — we do not lay stamped concrete. RBS applies seamless decorative surfaces, not a pattern stamped or formed into wet concrete, so a stamped concrete contractor, company or supplier is a different trade to ours, wherever in the UAE you are searching from. What we apply instead, to the same slab, is real texture without the formed joints stamped concrete relies on: exposed aggregate, a spray-stencil overlay, or acid and water-based staining. See the honest comparison in stamped concrete vs stone carpet, including for driveways and pool surrounds.
What is the stamped concrete price or cost per square foot or square metre in UAE?
We can't quote it, because RBS doesn't install stamped concrete, and we would rather say so than guess a competitor's price. What we can quote is what we actually do to a slab: true densified polishing, staining and overlays, each priced after a site visit. If a stamped, textured driveway or pool deck is the look you want, our own alternatives — exposed aggregate, a spray-stencil overlay or a resin-bound stone carpet — are explained honestly on their own pages.
Do you work in Abu Dhabi and the other emirates?
Yes. We are Dubai-based and travel — Sharjah and Ajman are a short drive, and we take on Abu Dhabi and the northern emirates for floors of a sensible size, because the grinding machinery travels with the job. The same process, the same way of pricing and the same responsibility — RBS, start to finish — apply anywhere in the UAE; the site visit confirms the exact quote.
Is there a concrete slab company or concrete slab suppliers near me in Dubai?
Not us, and we would rather point you the right way than take the enquiry. A concrete slab company or slab supplier pours and cures the structural slab itself — a different trade from ours. RBS is the finishing company: we take a slab that already exists, whether newly poured or decades old, and grind, densify, polish, stain or overlay it. If a slab needs pouring first, a structural contractor or ready-mix supplier is who you want; once it has cured, we are the company that turns it into a finished floor.
Can you re-polish an existing floor — old polished concrete, terrazzo, marble or tiles?
Concrete and terrazzo, yes; marble and glazed tiles, no. Polished concrete floors that have gone dull in the walkways usually need a re-burnish, not a re-grind, and a deeper re-polish only after real damage. Terrazzo is re-polished or re-ground as one surface, and chips are repaired in place. We do not polish marble or granite — that is a stone restoration specialist's work — and glazed ceramic or porcelain tiles cannot be polished at all, because their shine is the glaze. Our floor polishing in Dubai guide goes through every floor type.
Do you make polished concrete countertops?
No — a cast concrete countertop is a separate mould-and-pour craft, not a floor-grinding job, and it isn't a service we offer. We do not make or coat countertops in any material: for a worktop, a stone, quartz or porcelain slab from a fabricator is the right choice. What we can do is the concrete look on the floor and walls around it — see microcement in the kitchen.
Are there concrete floor coating companies near me, and how much does concrete floor coating cost?
Yes, though 'coating' covers two different things and the honest answer depends which you mean. A poured resin coating over a concrete floor is epoxy — see epoxy flooring in Dubai, priced after a site visit. Densifying and polishing the slab itself, with nothing added on top, is what this page covers, also priced after a site visit once we've seen the slab. Both are things RBS installs, start to finish; which one you want depends on whether you'd rather add a coating or reveal the concrete underneath it.
